Brain Implants Against Depression

Depression affects many people around the world and researchers are trying to find out new ways of fighting against. Humans are treating depression with drugs and therapy but this is not satisfying enough. An interesting technique to cure depression is to use brain “pacemakers” which regulate the brain activity.

Brain pacemakers are based on electrodes that are firing low-voltage signals to the happy centers of your brain and they rewire the neurons in order to bring your happiness back.

Dr. Ali Rezai chief of the Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Neurologic Restoration says: “We’re rewiring the brain in many ways”. Although it’s an experimental method, deep-brain simulation helped a lot of people since it first appeared a few years ago. Hopefully, researchers will improve this technology and these brain implants will help depressed humans.
